MIKA LEIMAN

Software Developer and AI Entrepreneur

Twenty-odd years in software: test automation for Nokia phones, customer service platforms for contact centers and now SaaS products developed together with my business partners.

The story

It started in the 1990s in front of a Commodore 64, and I never really left that path. I graduated in business information technology from Tampere Business College in 2004 at the top of my class. Software has been my job ever since.

During my first decade in the industry, I tested software and built test tools for clients such as Nokia and Microsoft. I spent the next decade building multichannel customer service platforms at Provad and twoday, most recently as Chief Technology Officer. In February 2026, I became a full-time entrepreneur. At Lait On Oy, my business partners and I develop SaaS products together. I also provide software development for the two founders of AIAnt Oy, while freelance assignments are contracted through I-Cat Internet Catalog Tmi.

I live in Kangasala and off hours, you’ll find me in the forest or playing games, increasingly often ones I built myself.

T1

ilmastoselvitys.ai

A construction project’s carbon footprint in minutes, not weeks.

Upload an IFC model, Excel file or PDF. The app detects materials, calculates emissions using Finnish CO2data.fi coefficients and produces the official report required for a building permit. A typical run completes in 2–5 minutes.

  • Lait On Oy · jointly developed by its founders
  • IFC, Excel and PDF input
  • CO2data.fi emission factors
  • Official report + Ryhti-ready
T2

lakitulkki.ai

Understand the document before you sign it.

An AI reads the contract or document for you and explains in plain language what you are committing to, where the risks hide and what to ask before signing.

  • Lait On Oy · jointly developed by its founders
  • Plain-language summary
  • Risk highlights
  • Built for Finnish documents
T3

ED Mission Operator

An AI operator for Elite Dangerous commanders.

A desktop app that listens to game events and works as your bridge operator. It includes a memory bank, voice control, speech synthesis and screen awareness. The app runs on Windows and Linux, and its source code is open.

  • Personal side project

  • Voice control and synthesis
  • Open source

Archive

Projects from two decades, from servo arms to industrial robots and help texts in 52 languages.

ICC Customer Service Platform · Provad

I worked on the multichannel customer service platform from September 2014. The project put all my earlier experience to use while still teaching me something new every week.

Internet Catalog · personal project

An app store for web services, inspired by Google Play and the App Store. Built with PHP and MySQL, it detected the user’s language automatically. Popularity rankings were derived from social media signals before any user reviews existed. The project lives on today as blinkki.com.

Robot-Assisted Test Automation · Symbio

A C# application for running automated tests with a physical robot. The first prototype was a robot arm built from servo motors; after that the controller drove a Thermo Scientific CRS F3 industrial robot.

Testability Driver · Symbio

An open-source test automation framework for Qt applications. I was a core developer from 2010 to 2012 and made more than 500 commits across the driver, Qt agent, SUT adapter and visualizer. My work focused on reporting and diagnostics as well as the Ruby-based TDRunner, whose releases have received more than 75,000 downloads on RubyGems.

Nokia Communicator · Nokia

Implementation and rollout of test automation for Communicator applications using Nokia’s automation tooling. Results were reported into Executioner 2.0, which I maintained.

OHTA: Oscar Help Text Automation · Nokia

Automatic verification of help texts on N-series phones in 52 languages from Arabic to Chinese: the test opened an app, navigated to its help text and compared the content against the spec.

A-Tool · Nokia

A mobile device test automation tool that evolved from AutoIt scripts into a VB.NET desktop application. The tool was used in production for Nokia’s mobile phone test automation.

Executioner 2.0 · first project

I maintained and developed a test management and reporting tool immediately after graduation. It used VB 6.0 and MySQL and exported results to Excel.
